Anyone who has a child at our school is automatically a member of “Friends of Horton”.
The team above form a dedicated committee, and welcome new faces.
The Work of the “Friends”.
Being such a small school, the contribution made by the parents is a valuable asset to the school
system, often on a daily basis.
For example, parents help with walking children from school to the Village Hall car park at the base of Horton Hill. Individuals also assist with the infant reading classes, run the morning breakfast club
for early arrivals, take swimming lessons and help with DIY tasks. The talents of a professional gardener and qualified driver have also been utilised for maintaining the conservation area and driving
the coach on a school trip, whilst our entrance gate was designed and donated by a parent.
Last but not least, the fundraising activities benefit the school and our children, providing valuable
teaching resources, equipment and subsidising school visits.
Our gothic styled entrance gate, designed and
donated by a parent, and our conservation area.
