Horton CE VA Parents' Survey, Spring 2007
Report on Results
In the Spring of 2007 the school asked the parents for feedback on what they particularly valued about the school and what they would like to see change. 29 questionnaires were sent out and a 100% response rate was achieved.
The responses are reported as follows:
Part 1: A selection of comments reflecting the main messages in the feedback
Part 2: The strengths of the school
Part 3: Areas for development
"We are very happy with our daughter's education, she has developed academically to a very high standard. As importantly, she has developed a very responsible attitude to those around her. She cares very much for her fellow pupils, which is a credit to the schools' standards as well as the teaching staff."
"Horton is an excellent school, catering for the needs of every child on an individual basis. Teaching standards are high, the staff are very hard working and enthusiastic and form a very committed team. Mrs Hayball is a hands on Head and her leadership has transformed Horton into a first class learning environment. The school is constantly expanding the range of what is on offer especially sport, school trips and extra curricular activities."
"We like the friendly, personal, small school environment and the focus on the whole child as an individual. Standards are high for staff and children alike; everyone is encouraged to give their best. We feel that the school is always moving forward, striving for new and better ways of delivering what I believe is an excellent rounded education for all the children. We all feel proud of the school."
"Our school encourages every child to work hard and to the best of their ability in a calm, friendly and caring environment. The children feel safe and content allowing them to fulfil their potential. The abundant experiences provided also allow the children to gain confidence in their own abilities which will set them in good stead for the rest of their education and into adult life."
Happy atmosphere: there is a very happy, welcoming family atmosphere at the school; caring supportive atmosphere; happy and relaxed environment; there are strong bonds between the teachers and the pupils; everybody is very friendly, social events for the whole family are supported. (16)

"The greatest compliment of all is that X desperately wants to go to school everyday,
no matter how well she feels"
