Friends of Horton School.
Past Purchases for 2006.
Items purchased during 2006 consist in the main of two Laptop Computers.
We also bought adventure playground equipment, computer and music software,
outdoor toys including wheelbarrows and a Summer House, and fish for the aquarium.
Purchases for 2007.
This year we have purchased a large toaster, and drinks smoothy maker for the breakfast club.
We have also purchased a large, “pop-up” gazebo for our events, a pond cover, venetian blinds
for the IT Room
We are pleased to say that we have now purchased our Outdoor classroom / Gazebo after a few
years of determined fundraising. The total cost was £4000.00. We were assisted by a grant from
Frenchay Skin Cancer Department.
We have also purchased the Visualiser, at a cost of £414.00 ,
and paid for the Stained Glass Window, which was designed partly by the children.
Lastly, a group of the parents completely re-decorated the new junior classroom, painting walls,
woodwork, bookcases and cupboards, as well as fitting new bookcases. One of our parents has also made and donated a topiary sculpture, in the form of the mythical symbol of good fortune, the “Green Man”. The children are thrilled with their new classroom, so we are very grateful to everyone
who donated their time with this project.
