About Horton Primary School.
[
http://www.hortonprimary.ik.org/]
Horton Primary School is the smallest school in South Gloucestershire, situated on the edge of the
Cotswolds. The escarpment rises steeply behind the school, whilst the Severn Valley stretches
from the base of Horton Hill into the distance. The school was built in 1859 by the Church of
England, and is a Church of England voluntary aided school, still retaining a close link with the local
Church, St.James the Elder.
With it’s distinctive gothic revival architecture, roof top bell signifying the end of break time
and farm animals occasionally looking over the school wall, you could be forgiven for thinking
that you have travelled back in time. However, a well equiped computer suite, interactive
whiteboards in each classroom, a high teacher pupil ratio and a richly varied education including
Italian, French & Music lessons in addition to National Cirriculum subjects bring this small school
right up to date.
For more information, please take a look at the school’s own website, at
